Carat and size: compare weight correctly
One carat is 0.2 grams. Carat describes weight; visible size depends on measurements and proportions.
What changes visually?
Compare length and width in millimetres. A deep stone can carry weight that adds little face-up area. Two equally heavy diamonds of different shapes need not look equally large. Our viewer deliberately holds display size constant and does not model true-to-scale carat differences.
What does that mean for price?
Price does not simply rise in proportion to weight. Compare total price and price per carat only for similar quality and origin. Consider stones just below a desired weight threshold; a small weight difference may not be visually decisive.
